LEED®认证已经成为联邦快递其新建设施的标准。LEED认证是由美国绿色建筑委员会（USGBC）制定并推行的一套绿色建筑体系。是建筑物设计、建造和持续运营的首要标准。联邦快递积极推崇这一认证体系。新近落成的联邦快递拉斯维加斯设施中心是公司获得LEED认证的建筑。紧接着，位于孟菲斯的联邦快递全球总部也在美国绿色建筑委员会现有建筑系统里获得LEED金奖认证。
联邦快递物业及设施管理副总裁Don Colvin表示：“联邦快递的目标是节约能源，保护环境，为客户和团队成员创造更适宜的工作环境。现在，我们朝着这一目标又迈出了一大步。取得LEED第三方认证，证实联邦快递一直以来都推进环境保护，致力于保护我们赖以生存的地球。”
联邦快递拉斯维加斯设施中心获得LEED金奖认证，该建筑通过使用低流量节水器具来取代固定流量设施，从而减少49%的室内用水。采用天窗和蒸发冷却等设计元素，与不具备该特点的同等建筑物相比，它可以节约42%的能源。在整个建造过程中，86%的建筑废弃物通过重复利用和原料回收等方式得到妥善处理。超过75%的常用空间可以接受阳光照射，从而减少了电灯的使用，工作环境更加舒适。
Stephen Mangin, the architect of the FedEx project, said: "Obtaining the LEED Gold Award certification is a high evaluation of our Las Vegas facility center, including a parcel sorting warehouse, vehicle maintenance area and office building. We have experienced many modifications before completing the whole project. This building can not only save water, energy and reduce waste, but also add a lot of points to the working environment with the natural lighting throughout the building."
FedEx also conducted an internal audit of the new requirements for LEED certification to ensure that it is consistent with the objectives of the FedEx EarthSmart solution project. EarthSmart is an environmental innovation and brand promotion project of FedEx, which aims to encourage team members to actively think and participate in innovative solutions that exceed industry standards and reduce the impact of the company on the environment.
