Taipei, June 5, 2023 –FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest transportation companies is expanding cooperation with Chunghwa Post in Taiwan. Starting June 1, FedEx Delivery Manager® pick-up service will be expanded to include 2,408 iBox terminals throughout Taiwan, making it more convenient for consumers to pick up their international online shopping.

Customers ordering foreign goods online can now receive text messages or email notifications from FedEx and choose a Chunghwa Post iBox terminal as the pickup location. This service solves the problem of the recipient not being at home or being unable to pick up the package. It also reduces logistics times, minimizes the chance of repeated delivery, and creates a win-win situation for e-retailers and consumers.

FedEx Delivery Manager® is an interactive e-commerce delivery solution that allows retailers to provide extra flexibility to their residential customers, allowing them to customize the schedule and location of their deliveries at no extra cost. With the service, customers can also get tracking notifications and check the status of incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments to see where packages are throughout the delivery process.

“We’ve found that creating an ideal consumer experience is crucial to increasing the repurchase rate,” observes Michael Chu, general manager of FedEx Taiwan. “Seventy-five percent of Taiwanese consumers predict that e-commerce will account for more of their overall retail spending in the next three years[1]. Given this growing trend, if future shipments can’t be delivered successfully, it will easily increase the potential cost of the transportation process, and also reduce the repurchase rate of consumers. Through our partnership with iBox, consumers can now choose their preferred location with a few simple steps, making it easier than ever for e-retailers to offer flexibility and convenience to their customers.”

Chunghwa Post has deployed iBox terminals all over Taiwan beginning in July 2016. They can be found in train stations, MRT stations, tertiary institutions, residential communities, hospitals, and other places where people gather in all of Taiwan’s counties and cities. The alliance between FedEx and iBox offers advantages from both parties. Packages no longer need to go through the hands of administrators and personnel, allowing consumers to receive their goods with greater flexibility and privacy. It is a new option for overseas online shoppers to pick up goods.

Customers who order foreign products online can receive text messages or email notifications from FedEx and choose one of Chunghwa Post’s 2,408 iBox terminals as the pick-up location and enjoy convenient 24-hour pick-up service throughout the year. When the international express shipment arrives at the iBox, the recipient can use the SMS pickup code to go to the designated iBox within three days. There, they can enter the last three digits of their mobile phone number and the pickup code to quickly pick up the delivery. FedEx looks forward to further expanding a high-density pick-up service network through a strategic alliance with Chunghwa Post to provide the public with more diverse and convenient logistics services.
