DHL Supply Chain, Americas’ leader in contract logistics and partof Deutsche Post DHL Group, broke ground today on a new corporatehead on Westar Place in Westerville, Ohio. The company willinvest more than $20 million in the new head set to open inDecember 2019.
DHL Supply Chain has a long history with Central Ohio, andspecifically Westerville, originally occupying space on SchrockRoad in 1991 and moving to Polaris Parkway in 2003. In that time,the company developed collaborative partnerships with theWesterville community. Company executives explored several optionsfor relocation, but decided to stay in Central Ohio, because ofthose partnerships, the existing talent that exists in the areaand, most notably, the region’s importance in the logisticsindustry.
“Our decision to further invest in Central Ohio was a strategicone, as the region provides greater access to the U.S. than anyother market,” said Scott Sureddin, CEO of DHL Supply Chain, NorthAmerica. “Our new head will further enable us to meet theneeds of our two most important stakeholders: our customers and ourpeople.”
DHL Supply Chain employs 630 people at its current North Americanhead in Westerville and has more than a dozen warehousesand facilities in Central Ohio. From those facilities, DHL SupplyChain is able to reach 46 percent of the U.S. population within a10-hour drive, more than any major U.S. metro.
