FedEx (NYSE code: FDX) announced today that five drivers representing the global transportation company won honors in the 2019 National Truck Driving Championship and the National Step Van Driving Championship (NTDC/NSVDC). Scott Woodrome won the twins and won the NTDC Grand Prix for the second time in a row. This is the third consecutive year that the driver representing the FedEx operating company has been rated as the total. Five people won the national award in their driving courses, and FedEx driver John Sanderson was named the National Rookie of the Year. The competition was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from August 14 to 17, and is sponsored by the American Truck Transportation Association every year. It has a long history, dating back to 1937, when it was called the National Truck Roadeo. We are proud of all the men and women who have participated in the National Truck Driving Championship, especially those who have won honors at the national level, said Frederick W. Smith, chairman and executive officer of FedEx. This not only represents our commitment to, but also represents our dedication to 'safety first' in the community where we operate. This year, FedEx was lucky to send 176 drivers to NTDC from across the country. In the past 17 years, FedEx drivers have won 6 national titles, 62 national championships and 9 national rookie titles.
