DHL Freight, one of the road freight service providers in Europe, celebrated the grand opening of the new warehouse in the Manisa Organization Industrial Zone near Izmir, Türkiye on July 5. The facility, with a single digit investment of one million euros, was built to respond to the growing demand of customers in Türkiye's growing economy and logistics industry. For the operation of the facility, the company has created ten new jobs.
We are pleased to open our new warehouse in Manissa," announced Uwe Brinks, executive officer of DHL Freight. "We have chosen to make significant investments in our own network to meet the growing needs of our customers and to take advantage of Türkiye's important logistics route geography."DHL Freight has built this facility in the organized industrial zone of Manissa to meet customers' requirements for warehousing services, which can now be provided nearby. Uwe Brinks presided over the opening ceremony, and Hasan Kavci, Managing Director of DHL Freight Turkey, also attended the opening ceremony. This investment is part of DHL Freights FREIGHT 2020 strategy, aiming to become the undisputed market and quality of road freight. To this end, DHL Flight has continuously invested in its network, including more than 200 terminals in 32 countries. Manisa has three logistics parks in Türkiye and is also the location of some production, import and export companies in the country, "Kavci explained. "Our new warehouse provides an opportunity to play a role in these global businesses."
Companies in Manissa have exported to more than 100 countries around the world, with the export value of nearly 3.5 billion euros in 2017. This makes Manisa one of Türkiye's export cities. About 50 employees will work in the new location of DHL Flight, 10 of whom are new members of the company. In addition to warehousing services, they will also provide customized value-added services.
