DHL Parcel will increase the pricing for commercial customers from September 1, 2019. In March, the company announced an annual investment of 150 million euros for personnel, further automation and expansion of postal and parcel infrastructure. These investments will benefit customers by improving quality and performance, especially when the number of package markets continues to grow. Through this price increase, the company should also respond to the generally significant increase in transportation and personnel costs to ensure that it will provide high-quality services to its customers in the future.
"In order to deal with the increasing volume of packages reliably, we continue to invest in the expansion and modernization of the package network. In July 2019, we also transferred about 13000 employees from subsidiaries to the collective agreement of the company, thus further improving the working conditions and the fair wage structure", explained Ole Nordhoff, German Marketing Officer of Deutsche Post DHL Group Post and Packages.
With the price adjustment, DHL also responded to the hope of many customers to disclose the external impact on transportation costs such as toll during the expansion of federal highway truck toll to the middle of 2018 and the increase of toll. Rate in January 2022. Therefore, for the sake of transparency, the company will separate the toll surcharge of 0.10 euros per package from the package price from September 1, 2022.
As in the previous year, DHL Paket will adjust the price for customers with separately agreed conditions at a later time.
DHL Parcel is increasing its prices for business customers with list prices from September 1, 2019. Just in March, the company announced annual investments of 150 million euros for personnel, further automation and the expansion of its postal and parcel infrastructure. These investments will benefit customers by improving quality and performance, especially as volumes in the parcels market continue to grow. With this price increase, the company is also responding to the generally significant increase in transport and personnel costs in order to ensure the high quality of service for its customers in the future as well.
"In order to reliably process the increasing parcel volumes, we are continuously investing in the expansion and modernization of our parcel network. In July 2019, we also transferred around 13,000 employees from subsidiaries to the company’s collective agreement, thereby further improving working conditions and fair wage structures", explains Ole Nordhoff, Chief Marketing Officer Post & Parcel Germany at Deutsche Post DHL Group.
With the price adjustment, DHL is also responding to the wish of many customers to disclose external influences, such as government charges, on transport costs in the course of the expansion of the truck toll on federal roads to mid-2018 and the increase in toll rates in January 2019. For the sake of transparency, the company will therefore report the toll surcharge of 0.10 euros per parcel separately from the parcel price as of September 1, 2019.
As in the previous year, DHL Paket will adjust the prices for customers with individually agreed conditions at a later date.
